What we doevalpartners2022-01-16T14:01:28-05:00

What we do

EvalPartners is an advocate for international evaluation and the custodian of the Global Evaluation Agenda.

Capacity Building

  • Creating an enabling environment for evaluation by building individual and institutional evaluation capacity
  • Building evaluation capacity through professional exchanges including international conferences, training, awareness raising, and national evaluation systems strengthening
  • Growing the global evaluation profession by endorsing evaluation as a mainstream tool to be used by policymakers and decision-makers everywhere
  • Supporting and promoting evaluation that is country-led and in line with Agenda 2030

Collaboration

  • Providing a platform to create interlinkages between different organizations and partners to explore, discuss and craft the future of evaluation, through various events and opportunities for engagement, including the Global Evaluation Forum
  • Bringing together the global evaluation community under the umbrella of thematic evaluation networks that promote specific objectives including the promotion of evaluation of the SDGs; gender- and equity focussed evaluation; youth in evaluation and the role of parliamentarians and indigenous communities in evaluation
  • Leading a shared Global Evaluation Agenda 2030 (EvalAgenda2030) by working with members to review progress towards EvalAgenda2020, engaging partners, and disseminating and advocating for EvalAgenda2030

Innovation

  • Developing and funding innovative programmes to allow greater capacity building and collaboration at the global level including by:
    1. Strengthening National Evaluation Policies & Systems in 15 countries globally
    2. Broadening the base of uses and users of evaluation through campaigns, including the Evidence Matters campaign that documents and shares the use of evaluative evidence to inform the implementation of EvalAgenda 2030
    3. Maintaining the EvalPartners’ Peer-to-Peer (P2P) grant mechanism as an effective method in fostering South/South and triangular cooperation, encouraging two or more VOPEs to form partnerships to share advice and lessons learned in evaluation practices
    4. Stimulating and facilitating innovations in evaluation by crowdsourcing the challenge to identify new approaches and ideas on specific priorities in evaluation through the Innovation Challenge programme
    5. Calling for applications from eligible evaluation professionals from the Global South to participate in International Evaluation Conferences through the EvalPartners Mobility Grant scheme
    6. Creating and launching e-learning resources, toolkits, and a curated online resource portal that are easily accessible to anyone wanting to learn new evaluation skills
