Seeds planted for a Resolution promoting country-led eval
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, UNICEF, IIED and EvalSDGs first tables the idea of a UNGA Resolution to Promote Country-led Evaluation of the SDGs.
3rd Global Evaluation Forum in Bishkek
The Third Global Evaluation Forum organized by EvalPartners took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic in April 2017. Two EvalPartners flagship programs were launched at the event.
Five EvalNetworks is born
The second Global Evaluation Forum also results in the birth of the five EvalNetworks: EvalYouth, EvalGender+, EVALSDGs, EvalIndigenous and the GPFE.
EvalFamily adopts the Global EvalAgenda
EvalPartners launches the EvalAgenda 2015-2020, the first ever shared vision for global evaluation, at the second Global Evaluation Forum in Kathmandu, Nepal.
2015 declared International Year of Evaluation
The EvalTorch travelled across 28 countries, ending at the Second EvalPartners Global Forum in Kathmandu, Nepal to culminate the celebration of the International Year of Evaluation.
UNGA passes pioneering Resolution on Evaluation
The EvalYear Evaluation Torch was lit at the UN building in New York in December 2014 with the passing of a landmark resolution to build evaluation capacity at country level.

The idea of EvalPartners was conceived as a joint vision of IOCE board members and UNICEF at an IOCE meeting in Accra, Ghana.

EvalPartners, formed by the International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE) and the United Nations in 2012, is an innovative partnership between the UN, Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs), Governments, Parliamentarians, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Development Banks and other partners. Together, these partners strive to influence policymakers, public opinion, and key stakeholders to recognise the need for effective evaluation as crucial to any decision.
EvalPartners has credibly demonstrated its capacity to bring together organizations from across the globe to enhance evaluation capabilities of VOPEs and individual members. The UN declared 2015 as the International Year of Evaluation and EvalPartners launched the Global Evaluation Agenda for 2016-2020 at the Parliament of Nepal in 2016.
In 2022, EvalPartners celebrates a Decade of bringing together global evaluators and other partners to steer forward the Global Evaluation Agenda.
